B.I.E GROUP HISTORY The B.I.E. Group began in 1934 as British Inspecting Engineers Ltd, a company founded in London, England by the late E.W. Brown. The Founder's intent was to provide a comprehensive inspection and testing service, while maintaining a policy of total independence from any industrial or other commercial enterprise.

Today the Group provides inspection, expediting and quality assurance services on a worldwide basis. The Founder's original policy is still in practice today, as we continue to undertake work objectively and without any bias.

The development and use of the B.I.E. Group Quality Management System has been a significant factor in the continued success of our worldwide activities. British Inspecting Engineers Ltd. is responsible for the Group Quality Management and is a BSI Registered Firm of Assessed Capability to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 in respect of inspection and expediting services.

MISSION STATEMENT

It is the objective of the Company to offer through its staff, systems and services, cost efficient support, coupled with a high level of quality.

The Company wishes to emphasize its commitment to problem solving through a proactive role whilst maintaining its independence at all times.

IN-HOUSE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

OBJECTIVE

The objective of B.I.E. is to provide services which continually conform to Client's contractual requirements.

POLICY

To achieve this objective, B.I.E. has established and maintains an effective and efficient quality programme planned and developed in conjunction with other management functions. Conformance of work to contract requirements is made on the basis of objective evidence of quality and quantity and by compliance with the relevant Quality Standards.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

The B.I.E. Quality Management System contains information to ensure that the Client's quality requirements are recognised and that consistent and uniform control of these requirements is adequately maintained. The system defines how effective control is established by the use of formal written procedures.

The B.I.E. Quality Management System is based on the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000. The B.I.E. Quality Management System was assessed by B.S.I. QA resulting in issuance of a Certificate of Registration of a Firm of Assessed Capability to B.I.E. UK and other B.I.E offices worldwide.

APPLICATION

The B.I.E. Quality Management System is used throughout the B.I.E. Group. B.I.E. offices and associate offices are issued with Quality Manuals updated and amended by the Quality Controller based from the UK office.

CONTROLLING OFFICE

Where a Client requires worldwide field inspection, expediting and/or other quality services, the B.I.E Group operates as follows:

One of the participating group offices is nominated to act as overall coordinating office for the Client. The nominated office handles initial liaison with the Client and is responsible for collection and distribution of all inspection information. The controlling office designates coordinating staff locally for each Client and sets up lines of communication with other participating B.I.E offices.

Direct communication is encouraged as an assignment becomes active, to ensure excellent expedient handling and cost effectiveness, but the controlling office maintains overall management.

COMMUNICATION

In addition to normal office support systems, the B.I.E Group utilises the Internet and other technologies for the timely receipt of reports and other communications. This combination of facilities ensures the ability to meet all Client requirements in a technological age where the demand for deliverables is instantaneous.

FIELD PERSONNEL

Field Personnel are based in various locations close to the major industrial areas to provide full coverage whilst minimising travel costs.

DISCIPLINES

Inspectors of varying disciplines may be involved to cover specialized aspects such as electrical/instrumentation, mechanical, welding, NDT, coatings (i.e. line pipe, transport pipelines, valves, fittings and flanges), drilling and production equipment, tubing/casings, down hole, wellhead equipment, sub sea, topsides (cable, subsea flexible flowlines and risers), turbine and compressors.
