INSPECTION OF MECHANICAL, INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL
EQUIPMENT

Qualified and experienced inspecting engineers are employed, in locations close to the major industrial centres, to carry out inspection of all types of mechanical, instrumentation and electrical equipment.

Office co-ordination personnel, who review the purchase order and specification, as they are received from clients, review assignments. The most suitably qualified inspector is assigned to carry out the inspection within the B.I.E. quality procedures.

FIELD AND DESK EXPEDITING SERVICES

Experienced field expeditors are employed, in locations close to the major industrial centres. They visit manufacturer's works and verify the manufacturing status of the product, exerting influence by specific initiatives to progress orders through to timely completion.

A full desk expediting service to meet each client's requirements is also provided.

The Group's expediting service is operated independently of the inspection activities and in accordance with the company's Quality Management system.

COMMUNICATIONS

B.I.E. utilizes the Internet in order to facilitate a quick response in reporting of inspection and expediting assignments and invoicing with our other group offices, clients and field personnel.

PROVISION OF PROJECT PERSONNEL

The Group's traditional role of providing quality assurance and quality control personnel on secondment to a Client's project management team has, over the years, expanded to include the provision of discipline engineers and associated support staff.


WELLHEAD EQUIPMENT, FLEXIBLE FLOW LINES AND CONTROL UMBILICALS

Qualified and experienced inspectors undertake inspection and monitoring activities during manufacture of wellhead equipment through to its factory acceptance tests. Flexible flow lines and control umbilicals can be monitored continuously throughout production and manufacture including the hydrostatic and flow testing.

QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Quality assurance engineers carry out pre-contract award surveys, supplier evaluations, third party quality audits and quality surveillance. These activities are carried out to fully documented B.I.E. in-house procedures.

MILL INSPECTION SERVICES

Experienced and suitably qualified mill and OCTG inspectors are employed to carry out in-plant inspection of plate, pipe and OCTG at the following critical stages of the production process: pre-production meetings, non-destructive testing, plate rolling and testing, physical testing and pipe forming.

Pipe coating inspectors monitor the application of coal tar enamel, polyethylene and thin film fusion-bonded epoxy coatings in addition to the inspection of the application of concrete weight coatings, the installation of anodes and buckle arrestors.


INSPECTION DIRECTIVE SYSTEM

B.I.E. has developed an inspection directive system which will not only ensure a unified approach to inspection of specified equipment but will also ensure that all inspection requirements are accurately catalogued in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.


INSPECTION OF STRUCTURAL STEELWORK

Experienced welding inspectors carry out shop and site monitoring of structural components including: bridges, bulk fuel tanks, gantries, pipe installations and cranes.

Our service covers material quality, welding supervision, dimensional control, witness testing, final inspection and review of data package.

INSPECTION OF PROTECTIVE COATINGS

Protective coating inspectors with extensive practical experience and certified to N.A.C.E. and/or ERS undertakes both on-site and off-site supervision and inspection of protective coating processes.

INSPECTION OF TRANSPORTABLE GAS CYLINDERS

Third party inspection of transportable gas cylinders is undertaken by B.I.E. who represent the end user and carry out inspections to the requirements of the specification designated by the client.

B.I.E. has developed a number of in-house training seminars, which are aimed at the developing the engineering and quality management skills of personnel. These seminars can be specifically tailored to meet each client's individual requirements and codes of practice.
